Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi Folktale
Inspired by the folk tale of Boya and Ziqi. I have adapted this story as a bittersweet romance between a diplomat and a reclusive woodworker.
The original story has Boya, a scholar, and Ziqi, a hermit, become unlikely friends as they both admire the music of a guquin. They become close friends, but when Ziqi unexpectedly dies Boya says he will never play the guqin again and breaks his instrument. This folktale represents deep friendship.
